A forklift operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, supplying production areas with materials, and moving finished goods to storage. They inspect lifts before use, wrap and secure loads, and ensure shipments are accurate and damage-free. Operators efficiently stack and store merchandise, transfer products to rail cars or trailers, and maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, orderly condition. Daily inspections and minor maintenance of forklifts are required, and all operations must be carried out in compliance with safety and health regulations to promote a safe working environment.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
